Dental teams are filled with all types of people from a variety of skill levels, and every last one has untapped potential. From the new dental assistant just learning to take an x-ray to the most experienced clinician at the peak of their career, leadership is the key to growing others and growing yourself. This discussion will highlight how leadership can be developed in each team member in the dental office, not just those with formal leadership positions, and how it is a non-negotiable ingredient in your office's success.
Using the TEACH Leadership Model-which stands for Trust, Expectations, Accountability, Consistency, and Heart-we'll explore practical ways providers and teams can strengthen these qualities in themselves and their workplaces. The resources and stories I'Il use to teach these principles come from my real-world experiences and from the trainings of leaders such as Brené Brown, Simon Sinek, and Douglas McGregor.
The goal is to help providers and teams understand that leadership is built every day and that by living out these five principles, they can influence their teams, enhance patient care, and foster a positive work environment wherever they practice.
Guest Speaker: Dr. Wes Eggett
Leadership Coach - Founder of Leading in Dentistry

I am a practicing dentist outside of Denver, Colorado. With 20+ years of leadership experience in a variety of different positions, I started Leading in Dentistry to help develop the leadership skills of each team member in the dental office, focusing on the message that "you don't need to wait until you're in charge to be a leader."
